This season, Fresno Community Chorus Sings
Mozart’s Requiem at Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall

Seeking singers in all voice parts, Fresno Community Chorus announces auditions for its 2009-2010 season. The winter 2009 concert repertoire consists of Requiem Mass in D minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the psalm setting Dixit Dominus by George Friederic Handel, to be performed at the remarkable new 750-seat Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall on the Clovis North Educational Center campus.

In addition to its regular concert season, which has included performances with the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra and special children’s concerts, Fresno Community Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Anna Hamre, performed for a second time at Carnegie Hall in April 2009, and toured in Salzburg, Vienna, and Prague in June 2009. The chorus completed a pre-Olympics tour in China in March of 2008. Fresno Community Chorus comprises a diverse group of volunteer singers from Fresno and many surrounding communities. The 100-plus membership includes physicians, lawyers, teachers, students, retirees, and homemakers, in addition to professional musicians and music educators. The Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale performs with its full membership. As required by performance repertoire in a given season, additionally auditioned chorus members form the Coro Piccolo ensemble choir.
